But how can  displaced residents find the nearest shelter; how can they know if space  is still available? Additionally, residents often need to know which  shelters are equipped to deal with certain medical conditions. 

Most times rescue operations team will not be able to reach the affected people on time. In such cases, people help each other. Technology can connect all the residents and enable them to help each other.
